The 9th China International Press Photo Contest reveals its awards in a News Press on March 25th held by the West Lake. “The Gaza Conflict” wins the Photo of the Year.
This year’s contest received 30 thousand photos by 3000 journalists and photographers from over 70 countries, among them photos from foreign countries accounted for 72%, which showed the internationality, authority and great influence of CHIPP. 16 gold, silver, and copper metals and 75 best pieces (series) in 8 categories were awarded in this years contest.

Zhejiang science and technology museum science promotion series: “Science+ a Hundred-day Lectures” launched its first lecture—The misunderstandings in meteorology on the afternoon of March 23th in Zhejiang science and technology museum.
This session of “Science+ a Hundred-day Lectures” has invited for specialists from Zhejiang province weather bureau to talk about some misunderstandings in meteorology, such as the differences between frog and haze as well as the difference between Typhoon and hurricanes. These words seem no difference in common people’s eyes, while they do have strict definition as to specialists.
Kite masters compete by the West Lake

Kite masters from both Hangzhou and world famous Weifang get together on Bai Causeway, enjoying themselves in a kite contest. Kites with different sizes and distinctive styles flying on the sky show people a high level kite match. Over 20 kites were flying over Jindai Bridge on the afternoon of March 25th, attracting over 50 passengers. Passengers said they were happy to meet such a big kite contest between the two cities and they really enjoy it.
